The California Kid
Saturday, July 2, 2011 was the Beatnik Blowout (Formerly "Back to the Beach") at Seaside Park in Venture. The weather was overcast in the morning, but cleared up to the mid '70's. The show was small but good bands and pin-ups. Some of you old timers may recall the infamous "Groucho", who had brought out his B/MP Vette. He was hoping for a trophy in the racecar catagory. Unfortunately, they discontinued that class. Most car in attendance were customs so they awarded the first place "Hot Rod" trophy to my '51 Ford AWB. Funny thing is, "Groucho" built that car, so after the award ceremony, I gave him the trophy. Very cool trophy............
and those California cars can still knock us out.
