Young Ray Croc watched eagerly each morning as his grandmother served old farmer McDonald coffee on the way to his north 40.

He couldn't help but think, if he could get most everyone in the village and neighboring farms to stop every morning for his grandmothers special blend of aromatic beverage there could be money to be made. He vowed at that time if his idea was ever a success he would name his venture after the old farmer McDonald who was his inspiration.
