Black Spray Paint

Any one else ever get tired of seeing something that some one has spray painted black, or some other color for that matter, and saying its a rat rod. Gets frustrating to me. There is much much more to a rat rod or bike than just painting it flat colors. I understand that there is the philosophy of your own vision, and do what you want, that sort of thing, but come on guys no matter what you are still driving a honda civic with a fart can on it.

Like I keep saying I'm not big on being labeled, call my build what you want other then a POS. But the trend does seam to get out of hand sometimes. I'm a CL addict and I sell/buy alot, sometimes I can't believe what some people think is a ratrod. Trashed out interior doesn't make it a ratrod.

When I CL something, I add down at the bottom a string of words: rat hot rod ratrod hotrod project, and also search CL this way. You will find a ton of cars bombed black or just rusted out POS. the trend seams to be if ratrod is added to it, it's worth $2,000 more.

Reminds me of when I use to embarrass ricers on Friday night with a 70 Chevy PU turd... with 400 ponies playfully singing through 4 inch exhaust Ragged truck, cab was good with minor rust, doors good, hood good... front fenders hammered, bed would makes a rat rod hide.... bumper from my 81 Chevy, 34x18x15 wrinkle walls... fun stuff

That's why mine is just a hot rod, nothing more and nothing less. It'll still be cool when all the goofy crap with old wrenches and saw blades are just a mere memory.
