My neighbor is a manage at a local body shop. Last week they had a fire and the shop was completely destroyed. The cause was determined to be an EV. I believe he said Lexus. My friend who owns a gas station said to me over a year ago that people with EVs should never park in a garage. Jim

Wow!!! That's crazy!!! I know my RC car batteries can make a good fire if they fail! I couldn't imagine a full size clear popping!!

There isn't anything that is rechargeable left on a charger when I close up the shop for the day. Sure isn't going to be an electric vehicle in my shop over night!
I had a friend that lost a really nice garage, a really 78 Trans Am Firebird, and a really nice, and rare, 383 Dart GTS because of a rechargeable battery pack for a hand held drill was left on the charger for a couple hours and melted down.

I saw a post where a guy put his chargers on a switched outlet tied in with his shop lights. Come spring I'm going to do that. Until then I have been unplugging them when I leave the shop. Jim
