So I was convinced by a customer to build his bronco 2 for him. Now I know, that sounds silly. But a 350 HP 302 and a 4r70w along with early bronco solid axle swap. It could be fun!

So lets start!!

Its different for sure hahaha. My girls and I are driving 3 hours this morning to go pick up the front end

Making some more progress. Unboxed all my l&l products parts. Headers motor mounts oil relocation kit. I could have built motor mounts but it was easier since these are already engineered. I had to buy their headers anyway. Getting it tore down so we can get it cleaned up and start test fitting

Nice power upgrade!![cl
Will you keep the stock suspension and just mount the solid axle to it, or will it get a lift kit?? [P[P

Oh yeah, just a little mo powa!

Getting a 2.5" lift and all new mounting hardware. It will get new mounting brackets that are the the same as the first generation broncos

Lots done around the shop today. Started last night by degreasing and pressure washing the bronco. Then this morning I tested the engine. After that I decided to start getting the front suspension out of my way

Well an update on everyone's least favorite project hahaha. This morning I got up and got out in the shop and tried the bolt the motor in. What a mess that was. We bought a kit from a company that was supposed to be a drop an engine swap kit for a 289 302 into a ranger or bronco 2. Nowhere did it say that it would not work with an AC truck, or that you had notch the frame to make their custom headers fit. So after pulling the engine back out a couple times I got it to go in where it's going to work. I had to notch the AC box, I will fiberglass in a new piece at a later date. I also got the headers slid into place. Like I said had to do some trimming and massaging.
I then took a trip down to TeePee Auto wrecking and picked up and 8.8 disc brake rear end out of a V8 mountaineer, and both rear window sheet metal to replace the rusty bits on the bronco in the shop

What?? A ready made kit that doesn't fit without mods?? :D
Fortunately you have the skills and vision to see past the problems and get 'er done. If it just fell into place, you'd probably get bored

Hahaha, I know. Just frustrating!

Got some shop time last night. I cut all the axle brackets off the 8.8 we are using. Then welded up all the little imperfections in the axle housing, some of them might cause the torch. Then I ground it all smooth. Today I will get the spring purchase put on it and then back under the bronco
