If you are talking about the front axle and all, then id say no way. The pumpkin on the front is offset and wont line up with any trans for the rear. For it to work it would take some pretty major fab work. Now if it was centered then yeah it would be like a normal rear, but its not it sits off to the side.

If you are talking about C bushings and coils with a trac bar, sure, that would work. The hard part would be moving the metal mounts over to a standard axle.

Yeah im just talking about using the arms and "clamps" I'de be using my old coils and panhard bar. NOT THE FRONT AXLE

the triangle shaped blocks on the axle are only welded on the top and bottom. Should be a pretty easy swap. How much do the new rubbers sell for?

nevermind that last question. Dang they aint cheap. Im assuming those are poly bushings.

ya know, i asked this question over on the HAMB and got accused of being a "rat rodder"!!!! Can you believe that? Me? A rat rodder?????

well i did it. The wedges were made from cast, but they were welded onto the axle. I drilled the I-beams too. This setup is wicked. Absoutly no wheel hop or axle wrap what so ever. And the best news is i found out that I HAVE A POSI 9"! Before when i just had it in the air i thought it was an open diff. Glad i was wrong.

A Posi is a limited slip. The term "posi" is short for Posi-Traction, the trade name for General Motors limited slip diffs in the early days. Just like Sure-Grip is for Mopars. The only true "locker" was Ford's Detroit Locker.

I am glad to see this thread come back up. Just did the lift on my sons 79, and the wedge parts were cast into the axle. Just an information item.
