keeps the riff-raff out of the state, and you don't find bums sleeping on the park benches.
Staying warm isn't hard, not near as hard as trying to stay cool in 95 degrees with 80 % humidity. I've lived in both Texas and Alaska and I'll guarantee a lot more Texans move to Alaska than Alaskans moving to Texas.
One of my main qualifiers for a place to live is never live anywhere that the airborne mold and mildew count is part of the weather report, or that has more than one kind of poisonous snake. Two, that's two things I guess.
