Buried Treasure

This is at the Gilmore Museum. Story says that towards the end of WWII the owner didn't want either the Americans or Russians to get this car so he put it in a shed, garage, then bricked in the entrance, brought in fill dirt and planted a garden.

After the war his location ended up in East Germany. The car remained hidden until after the fall of the Berlin wall when it was unearthed and restored.

Good stuff. I like these stories. I would venture as guess this wasn't the only one that was hidden during that time period. It be interesting to know what else is still out there....somewhere.

So they were capable of building a piece of art like that in the '30s but all they can produce in 2012 is nondescript plastic blobs. Seriously, I think i saw a new Maserati sedan across the street yesterday but it may have been a Hyundai or a Nissan or a............
