Can king pins be drilled and tapped?

Or is the steel too hard.

I want to finish mine with some turned stainless caps and a counter sunk machine screws.

Thats like axle steel (HARD) !!!!!! I have mushroomed them before , trying to beat them in so I guess its not hardened steel .. IDK ??

In theory any steel can be drilled and tapped with the right tools.
Don't see why you couldn't do the same to your kingpins.

I have reamed them and they cut fine. A friend bored the hole bigger and his cut well.

Back when I use to do metal stitching we would use these short solid carbide drill bits and roughing/finish taps in hard castings.

Maybe I'll try that.

There has got to be some type of epoxy or glue that would work.
