Looking to install a Super Bell front axle, Im thinking about replacing the leaf spring with bags.

Heres my question, Can you weld on the axles? I do not know if they are a spring steel or not, if they are welding a mounting plate on them might not be a good idea.

SOOO Heres my Idea, Im open to ideas comments, good bad, anything. Im new at building cars, built many bikes, this will be my first car soooo

I figured the PANHARD would handle the left and right sway, and I plan on using split wish bones for the fore and aft.

sorry for rough draft pic

it depends on the axle. a lot of the aftermarket axles are cast with forged ends so you dont want to weld to the cast.

also the way you have your panhard bar drawn up will case a lot of bump steer. it should be parallel to the axle and the ground at ride height. just some info for when you get to that point

I've seen pictures of springs mounted to the bones instead of the axle, you could go that route with bags (although, I don't really know if that is safe).
