caster??

Ok.....correct me if I'm wrong....

One other thing to think of. How are you checking the caster??
With a camber caster guage, protractor, or what?? Sometimes
you can get different readings!!

measuring with an angle gauge at the king pin area does not provide the true caster....correct??? If memory serves me, when I was doing alignments you measured caster by turning the wheels in 20 degrees then centering to zero on the caster camber gauge then turning 20degrees out to obtain the caster reading....or am I all wet???[S so would an angle gauge on the axle provide a true caster angle??? [S
 
On a solid axle the angle gauge is fine. I do Mustang II suspensions with my Howe race car alignment gauge as you stated.

As you can tell...my experience with straight axles is limited to Zero...LOL

Agree Bob. But I have never used my guage to double check the angle finder to see if you get the same reading!! Next time I think about it I'll do it,
just out of curiosity!! When checking with the angle finder, make sur it's
at as flat an area as possible!!
