What is a good starting starting point to set caster at on a straight axle

five to seven degrees is the general rule of thumb. I set mine at six degrees. It has always worked out well for me that way.

Yep, X 2. (I mean not two times the caster, but just that I agree with Gastrick. If it were 2 X the caster that would be like 14 degrees, and ...........oh, nevermind. )

thanks guys,i got it at six now,but i think my wish bones are to low,its 6.25 from ground to center of heim joint on the end of bone,it sits paralell to frame just under it

That isn't too low actually. I think mine is about that far from the ground.
