ok got me in a 1930 windscreen frame disasembled it, now I need to chop it 5

Ive never chopped a window frame, sooooo how do you do it?

should I just come down 5in from the top and chop at 45deg re drill the mount holes in the side for the top frame piece ?

That'll work, square it before you weld it.

no welding, thats how you replace the window, the top frame is just bolted into the up rights

That's how I chopped it on my 28 only I chopped 8". I'm short-5-9. Test fit before you weld.

I would use thde old one as a template and build one from scratch.
