A parting Poem

Donsrods won the contest
you cannot deny
his words did ring true
lots of stuff does he buy

his girlfriend's thoughts race
as he picks up the part
but he buys them in lots
cause donsrods is smart

when all's said and done
his poem it did reign
may we all bow to donsrods
just hope we don't strain.....something

The poems keep coming! Culture and civilisation is taking root at old RRR. Who would'a thunk it??? So i'm thinking about a contest for interpretive dance, utube vids of y'all in leotards describing the rat building experience in impressionistic dance. Any interest?

Some people may scoff and think we are crusty

Just because the cars we like are somewhat rusty.

But underneath these haircuts that aren't very neat

are some guys with class, we are actually quite elite.

We love opera and all the finer things in life

and each of us has a beautiful trophy wife.

Our weekends are split between working on our cars

and going to polo matches, sitting next to movie stars.

Our tables are set with the finest food you can find

caviar is our prefered snack, if you don't mind.

Ah yes, we are such a high society group

if you believe all the above, you are really full of poop.

I noticed I said four runners-up and only posted three. The honorable thing to do is live up to my word. It caused me to read all the entries again. The more I read the more I am impressed. Maybe I'm just easy.

Ok, lets see....................


Down in the city of Torrance, C A

there is a cop who shoulda been a D A,

He's mean and he's tough

but don't let him bluff

He's a street racer in disguise

but also so very, very wise,

Because his Watch Captain never ever knew

about the secret life of this policeman in blue.

By day he would be law abiding and proper

but nights would find this long time copper

out in his gasser burning up the street

every challenger who tried him he would defeat.

They came from far, they came from near

but every one of them left shaking in fear.

Yes, he is the drag racing cop, who is like no other

it's a good thing he never worked undercover.

But alas all good things must come to an end

and GassersGarage has had to finally send

his resignation because it is time to retire

but I bet that still won't extinquish the fire

That he has so deep in his soul

when that Bad Chevy starts to roll.

He smiles and he grins, and thinks it's so funny

when he blows off their doors, and takes all their money.

Enjoy your retirement, but don't you dare wail

when you call us for help, and we don't have your bail!!!!!!!
