Let's see, no roll cage, transmission tailshaft exposed, no windsheild, steering wheel taped up, gauges wired in, probably more that we can't see.

The "Safety Police" would be all over it. Probably make him trailer it home. Never pass a NSRA inspection, or a NHRA one either.

But. it did pass inspection back then. Nobody got hurt {that we know of}. Fun was had by all.

Just shows this "Rat Rod" thing isn't new! [ddd
 
I did some web searching on the guy, found him in this book: Merchants of Speed: The Men Who Built America's Performance Industry. Some real cool stuff.
 
I think its pretty sweet! I'd like a short windscreen and a roll cage, but no matter what if that car rolls at 140+ you are not surviving unless you are ejected and just slide for a couple miles =P
