Isn't that a fact.
Waited on Vintage Air to ship a unit for the Chopped, Channeled and Narrowed project. They told me 4 to 6 weeks, It took 16 weeks to get it.
I ordered a bunch of stuff from Summit a few months ago. They were holding the order till everything was in stock. What was holding up the order? An Edelbrock SBC intake manifold. It wouldn't ship until September and I ordered in May! I told them to ship it as is and cancel the manifold.
Moving forward......Slowly.
Those of you with good memories may recognize these pics.
I tried to buy this engine back last winter. The guy pulled the ad as it was too much of a hassle with the snow he said.
It popped up on my FB market place the other day.
Today I went and bought it. I'll be bringing it home in the a.m.
Looks just like the pics MINUS the high dollar valve covers and the carb.
Came out of a 69 Satellite station wagon. It's a mid 70's block though.
Runs strong with good oil pressure. 904 trans that works as it should.
So now we have a engine and trans. [cl

Thanks Gang.
Not much progress as we have been dealing with the aftermath of another ER visit for my Moms in law.
Multiple follow ups to multiple Drs.
And we have been having air quality warnings the past 2 days.
Not real hot here but very hazy and close.
Been a bit of a challenge breathing.
I picked up a simple set of chrome valve covers for the 318. I'll get them tomorrow.
I also ordered another tire. That makes 3. Wife asked if I was building a tricycle.[ddd

Pulled the 4.3 out tonight.
The frame lifted 2-1/2" with the engine removed.
The 318 weighs about 100 lbs. more so we will see where the frame height settles in at.
That's it for now. Time to clean up the mess.
Keep on keeping on....

Married the trans to the engine and then set it in the S 10 frame.
Under the full weight of the 318 and trans the frame height is back down to 18"
Still a 1/2 ' shy of my pre swap height of 17-1/2".
I'll let it settle and check it again tomorrow.
You can see how close the S 10 engine mounts are to lining up with the 318.
I'm not the first person to put a 318 into a 49 Dodge. I may be the first person to put a 318 into a S10 frame under a 49 Dodge.
Keep on keeping on....
