Hey Torchie,

Hope the elbow is better and sorry bout the rough patch with the water heater and all. If you were near by I coulda helped you out with that.

The floor looks great! How did you bed the arches and are they tubing material?

I agree with you guys....cost of material has gone crazy. Bunch of stinkers

Thanks Couoer.
If you go back a few posts you will see how I did the arches.
I put in a series of relief cuts and then once bent I welded it.
The wide tubing is 1”x2” thick wall.

It's been a good day/bad day kind of couple of days around here.
Today was good.
I welded in the DS of the flooring. On to the PS. Got all of it except for 2 inches. I ran out of welding wire.:eek:
Yesterday was less then good.
Did my 6 months pacemaker check up. I was informed that I had a "Cardiac event" happen the day after my daughters wedding.
The upper 2 chambers of my heart went into AFIB.
I had no idea this time, as I was exhausted by then. And that's what concerns me. Prior to the pacemaker I was the one that picked up on the AFIB.
I'm on a short leash for the time being.
I think the "Hope' is just the fact that I got overtired from the events of the day and that's what caused it.
We shall see.
Keep on keeping on.......

Thanks gang.
Doing the best I can.
Picked up more welding wire today and finished the p.s.
Then I started in on a pattern for the transmission cover.
This will be removable.
Here are some pics of the local color.
Close to peak right now, I would say.

I'll have to pay attention on the trans cover. I've not made one from scratch, on the Willys I used a wheel barrel, they work good but this one has a room issues.[;)

I was pleasantly surprised with the colors in Northern New Mexico

Yup it's definitely fall here to, the odd tree amongst the acres of prairie have turned yellow. Floor looks really good Torchie. More important is take care of yourself.

Thanks gang!
Not too much progress right now. Still getting my sea legs back it seems.
I need to get back to it so I can get stuff organized before we get s as my serious snow.

WOW! Am I slipping.
I typed this up yesterday and forgot to post it.:eek:
While waiting for metal I turned towards another part of the build.
I'm going to be using a dash mounted shift lever from a 1955 Dodge Coronet.
Since the face plate is curved and the dash front is flat I will have to make some sides for the dash plate.
This shifter is designed to go on the right of the gauges. It will clear my radio grill and the steering wheel.
I prefer it on the left and will cut off the shift lever at the bend and re thread it.
That way it will come out straight from the dash with out that funky turn.
Keep on keeping on.....

Lets mock up the shifter.
Removed the column shifter parts.
Cut the shifter at the bend and tapped for the knob.
Looks like it grew there.
Nothing is attached yet. I only had to drill one hole in the dash to get it to this point.
I can also move the steering wheel loser to the dash if needed. That will be determined once I have a front seat.
I'm going to live with it for a while.
Keep on keeping on......
