After seeing some of the pictures, I am very glad to hear from you guys down south so quickly, sounds like you had the luck running your way.

No luck - just a pure miracle.
Please do not think for a minute that my case is typical.
My neighbors lost everything.
My parents who are 90 minutes to the east, between Beaumont and the Texas border, had over 4 feet of water in their house for days and lost everything. An area the size of some states is without power, The fourth largest city in the US and a major oil and gas producer is without power!
This hurricane will have affects on the US for months to come.

And once again FEMA is dragging their ass and the Red Cross is a no show.

Houston has no weeping and looting citizens for another city to rescue - for now it only has its own self. Don't pitty Houston but please do not assume all faired well.

Horrible to see all the devastation down there. I'm all the way in Ohio and Sunday we had 60 mph winds here with the highest gusts being in the high 70s. Lost trees and power and closed roads for the last two and a half days, but nothing even close to everyone to the South. Good luck to everyone dealing with this. You're in our prayers.
