I'm in phoenix for the week and making atrip to desert valley auto parts. I will take plenty of pics of the 30s,40s,50s fords and what I can. Its been 15 yrs since I've been there looking at barracuda parts. I'm looking for some stuff to hang in my recroom and some interior pcs for the 40 ford sedan. Not much here on craigslist....but still looking. Any suggestions while I'm in the area call 740-312-3149

On Friday the August 27th I had chance to revisit the salvage yard and take my brother-in-law a phoenix native. I had been there in 1995 after moving my two sisters from Ohio. Back then I was in aw over the numerous barracuda's stacked on top of each other and spent the whole day in july looking/finding an intake for a 340.

I did'nt need much this time, but spent the entire day searching thru the ford tin and taking pictures. The upper yard has moved to another location and keeps cars from the late 50s,60s and on up. We were told to drive down to Casa Grande . It was another name 6 yrs ago.

The rains kept me from using a good digital camera. I will add more pics soon all taken w a cell phone....slow process....

The previous owners would encourage folks to bring a lunch and spend the day. Glad they still allow browsers. At least the rain kept the heat down!
There was a '30's Pontiac sedan there years ago that i still think about. It had four suicide doors and high peaked fenders all straight and solid. Thanks for the pix bud

Yeah, I had a lot of fun browsing, jumping from scorpions under every hood/fender I lifted. Damn near ****ed myself laughing at my brother-in-law, he's a jeep guy. I found some parts to buy and ship home. If I'm able to make the good guys event in Nov. I'll be back out there.

The Dvap staff in Casa Grande were very helpful and of course they have some nice cars on their website for sale. I only took pics of the 37 ford at the north yard. My wife and I flew home on Saturday so I missed going to the nostalgia drags....maybe next time. When I finish my rod I plan on taking my daughter across country the year she graduates. I have driven this 3 times but never really slowed down to see the sites.
