I'm looking for a 3d CAD (computer aided drawing) model of a LT1 engine and auto transmision. Alternatively, I could develop a model.
1) Does anyone have a model they would share?
2) Does anyone have the outer dimensions of a LT1 engine?
3) Are the dimensions the same dimensions as earlier GM 350 or the later LS1?
Thanks

It is the same as a small block, just re-engineered water passages for reverse flow - physical dimensions are exactly the same.
I have a short block you're welcome to have - if you're anywhere near Orlando FL.

The LT1 is basically the same as the 265 ci engine built back in 1955. The only major dimensional changes are in the short vs. long water pumps. The LS series engines are a completely new breed of engine.

Here's a basic side view. I think you can find some of the missing pieces on the net somewhere.

Thanks Paul_J,
That is exactly what I need.
Does anyone happen to have an end view of the 350 (or 265 ci ) engine?
If not, then does anyone know distance between motor mounts which is most critical to me right now?
Thanks

Good find! The engine mounts are symmetrical on the small block so the dimensions will be the same both side from the centerline.

BTW, what software are you using to create your model?

I'm using Solid Works.
I'm not making too detailed of a model of the engine & trans for now.
Just general dimensions so I can check clerance with my suspension & steering.
The drawing shows the attach holes for the motor mount but I'll have to find a drawing of the mount, or at least the frame attach points to fake it in.
Thanks again for your help
