So I traded for this little wagon the other day.
1964 Plymouth Valiant V100- it’s been in this
same location for probably 30 years according
to the owner... slant 6/3 spd manual trans.

I’m thinking that since I have a friend with a speedway
gasser straight axle kit, that I’ll probably go that
direction.

Any suggestions or advice appreciated as I’m definitely NOT
a mopar man.

I have a friend who put a 413 in a wagon and raced it years ago. Apparently it was a pretty easy swap.

Nice wagon.

sweet!
frame connectors, torque boxes and cowl to inner fender support helps keeping doors closed @ full throttle on these...

good to be back... life is good, guys...
got a few projects going for other people, and trading for parts and pieces for my junk is usually how I get "paid" for what I do in the shop these days.

I never thought about the unibody and torque issues! I was really just gonna throw axles under it, wash it off with a soapy scoth-brite pad and flat clear it... and then start lookin' for an old mopar v8 to stick in it... I cant build horsepower without buying it, so it'll not be a fast car...

but I will keep those thoughts in mind, if I was to get serious about going fast, ill fabricate accordingly![;)

I wouldn't be afraid to dump a 360 small block in one. Should upgrade the rear end to something more than the 7 1/4" unit they come with.

Chrysler built Barracuda a-bodies with 440`s in them, not sure how that would work in a wagon. I`m sure the Barracuda would crack from torque in many places. I know my e-body did.... :p
My cheap choice would be a pre- 1972 ,230hp 318, with 3 or 4 sp.

very cool ride,. I`m kinda jealous...

One of my only 2 local mopar buddies offered me a 72 360 with auto trans for $400 but I am not ready to spend any money on it yet. He also has about 4 440's and he offered one to to me... but all needed machine work and reassembly... again- cash isn't available for this to get any attention yet...

if the front end was under it, id probably build a low riding patina'ed cruiser with the slant 6 for power.

as for the rear end- its gone, so it will be getting something probably in the ford 9" variety, as I have a Lincoln Versailles 9" with ford car/mopar bolt pattern...

really wanting to get started on it- but haven't even had time to drag it home!
