Went to Coffee and Cars this morning, and one of my favorites showed up so I snapped a couple. Then the rains came, and it looks like the shows for today may be a washout, will see.

Haven't seen one of those in a looong time, don't recall them looking that good either [cl One of those "out there" AMC styling exercises that didn't really hit the mark.

The only AMC that i liked was the 1968 AMX two seater, 390 4 speed. That was a great looking car!

So I was curious about where this model evolved from, apparently the Matador coupe was an attempt to compete with the Chevelle and similar. The boxy family Matadors were LA cop cars (Adam 12), and that type was also used in the original Assault on Precinct 13.

Funny how, at a glance, they don't look all that different from any other full size Mopar/Ford/GM car of the day, when looking back a few decades. Just like every era before them.
