2x3 188 metal mentioned...is that standard stuff I can buy at local metal dealer. I am thinking of just replacing current frame rails with what you suggested.
Also would it be unthinkable, since as you mentioned rails are tight to set a V8 motor, to bow new frames rails out at firewall then back in to accept front suspension.
If I stick with inline six it may not need more width.
