Just looked at this thread for the first time. Great build. Great fabrication work.

I would have loved to have that grille. Just what I am looking for.

How about a recent photo overall side or 3/4 view?

Love the truck! My boy and I will be doing a 46 chevy after I finish my international, I hope we have as much fun as the two of you did! Keep up the good work.

Back again....

Hey guys, Thanks for all the nice posts since I've been away from here. The good thing about a hotrod project, you can push it back in a corner and wait until you get time to work on it again. Life hasn't given us much time to play lately but it's finally running and drivable. What a rush it is to finally drive one after years of banging and grinding on it. Cooling system works great, pedals are all in. I raised and straightened up the radiator and grille shell and added a little height to the water fill neck just to make sure I had plenty of height to keep the air out of the system. The hard line water hoses also work as a mount for the radiator to keep it solid so I was able to eliminate the upper rod supports going to the shell.

Great lookin build some of my best memories with my old man were in the garage workin on muscle cars your kid is lucky for havin a dad with your knowledge whos willing to pass it down and your lucky for having a kid who loves what you do I'm looking forward to my kids being old enough to be in the shop, again I have to say great job guys its lookin killer

Thanks thanks thanks for the nice comments guys.....
Here's a few shots of how we mounted the pedals and brakes. The clutch pedal needs some more work to look right, but it works at least. Since the floor panel was make first, now all I have to do is notch it in the areas that I need too. Much easier this way.

Great job on the grill, it looks like it fits great with the truck now!

We got lucky on that. I was at a guys garage and saw it hanging on the wall for decoration. It seems that's the way it works sometimes. After a little begging and pleading, he let me talk him out of it. He thought it looked good on the wall, but his wife thought the money looked better!!!

So we washed the mud off the tires, and spit shined the rust. It's not done, but it runs and stops so it's off to a local car show, finally. For those local guys, it's at the Second Baptist Church in Springfield, MO., on E. Battlefield. Some old hot rodder's put it on for the local Victory Mission. It's time for some hang out time!

funny, I liked it better in the bare metal state as far as color goes. Still a great job all in all!

Thanks

New member here, and I just finished reading this thread. I just wanted to say that this is one awesome build!! Top notch work leading to a killer looking ride. Thanks so much for taking the time to document and post your progress here for others to enjoy!

Enjoy showing this thing off. :)

I have to agree with you, me too. Rat rods almost always look better is bare steel, but I left that decision up to my son. He wants to paint it black eventually, so hot rod primer will work till that day comes, if it ever does.

Thanks

CNC- That truck is awesome. Your kid is very lucky (as well as skilled). Thanks for taking the time to document your build so well it, it is great for those of us less skilled. Do you make your living building rods? [cl[cl[cl[cl
