Greetings

New to this board, but not new to forums, in general. I'm a long time member of the NSX forum, and have been a gear-head all my life. Starting with muscle cars, some sports cars, now onto overlanding with Land Rovers.

I'm building a modern replica of an old bike, a 1929 Indian Scout 101. Kiwi Mike near LA is my bike builder. We're using modern materials but adding lots of original items as we come across them. The original motors were total loss (oil), needing constant maintenance. Goal is to ride it, everywhere, and long distances. Thus, some modern amenities like good brakes and real lighting.

I'm looking to this board to recommend a real artist to faux-patina this bike. If it looks too new, it'll break the visual we're trying to achieve. Can send bike anywhere in the US, but SoCal is where the project is.

Josh Shaw in Cincinnati, Ohio. Hands down the best. Period. Also has experience with exactly what you are describing. Here are a few pics of a 1912 Harley Davidson that was fully restored then "aged" by him.
This is no wet sanded through the paint "faux-tina". It is done with research and accuracy that would be very hard to beat. So good it is marked in several secret places to keep it from being passed off as an unrestored original. Pictures don't come close to doing it justice...
