Mine was a pitiful looking thing--some sort of synthetic fake fur and a scraggly tail. Wore it to bed with me.. It started getting real mangy and smelly, and it got 'lost'--(mom got it and put it in the trash).
I was all conflicted about the guy--ya do know he was the driving force in that Ole Yaller thing. RIP--but man I loved that dawg!!
