that old truck is parked in a fenced in area behind and old "abandoned" building ... anyone know how to go about finding the owner of that building -- its an old garrett construction company truck -- i used to work on garret docks and they had some there just like it and some smaller versions but the owner would never sell them ... but last i heard he had passed away ... and im kinda curious to what the plans are for it.... or maybe if theyd be willing to sell it.

How about the Courthouse or the place in your area where property tax records are kept? Property is rarely truly abandoned, someone is paying taxes on it unless the City, County or State owns it.

Any neighbors nearby?

Yep city or county courthouse. You will need the address of the building and they should be able to find who owns the land.

Also if you know a real estate agent they have computer programs to get into tax records to see who owns what property and how much it is worth and tax info.

Depends on the size of u're city but nearly all taxing districts have tax records on-line now. Google the city's tax authority although things can be complicated by trusts & probate.

I have always had good luck with the people next door. No, not my next door neighbor, but the ones next to the property you are looking at.
