nice. Peter Wright?
Those American style anvils are few and far between overhere. Anvils are stupid expensive nowadays [S Something to do with those tv and youtube shows maybe... Oh well, hypes pass and anvils don`t die, they just get older... :)

What to do with you pet anvil if you are bored:

shooting anvils is fun :D I do think I need a bit more powder to push mine to that height tho

speaking of which... I brought home another one today... a stayer for sure [cl
This is a 1916 Söding & Halbach anvil. 178 kg / 392 lbs. Plenty used but still in great shape. Some minor touch ups and cleaning and then this will be the main anvil in my shop.

picture with proof it`s mine... :D

Anvil ****. Nice composition.[cl

At a metalworking convention: Bunch of guys having some drinks. A beautiful buxom blonde blacksmithette walks by. Guys yell, "Show us your anvils".

Wow, that's unbelievably nice. I need one in my shop... Don't know what to do with it, but I'd love to look at it. :D

Question: What do you use to move a 392 lb anvil?

hmmm... I guess it depends on how far you want to move it... first thing that comes to mind is Cooter`s towtruck... :D

If I need to move it in the shop I use the cherry picker. The anvil is strapped to the oak block which makes moving it a lot easier. That block is stupid heavy btw...

It`s been a while since my last new old tool  , so today I picked up an old drill press. I own a great quality drill press but with anything larger than 1/2" holes I run into drill speed and power problems.
One thing was looking for was transmission drive and I crossed paths with this gorgeous pre-WWII German Renner drill press. The guy that owned it just wanted it gone and I picked it up for 75 bucks [cl
The same model was built with automatic feed, but not this one... oh well...
It`s still on my trailer but I will get some better pics once it`s in the shop. I`ll have to contact my neighbour to drag it in with his little dozer. Without that , this boat anchor is going nowhere.... :D
