That car has some potential. I'd like to see it shortened up a bit. All that space between the firewall and the back of the engine knocks the proportions off a bit in my opinion.

I would give up a couple of my nice 32-34 Ford PU cabs and mabye even my 31 Mod A Budd top wide bed for that. I want a 28-29 or 30-31 Model A 5W coupe sooooooooooooo bad! Now I can't stop looking at it. Any ideas or guesses what the price will go to?

You never know DW. Sometimes it just depends on who is bidding. The last time I think it stayed pretty cheap, Maybe somebody else will remember more. Since it's not finished, that should keep the price down.

Aside from the coupe body there isn't a whole lot there to work with IMO. The engine is questionable (needs rebuilt?) no tranny, rear axle is waaaaaaaaay too wide, frame is too long, etc. I think a guy would be way ahead finding a decent model A coupe body and building everything else right to start with.

Your probably right, but I just want a 5W coupe really bad. When I wasn't looking for one, it seemed like there where a bunch around. When I was looking real hard a few weeks ago I couldn't find a single one (in my home state I should say).

Is't that the way it always goes. I am missing a piece of trim on my Nova ragtop. There were tones of them at that time & I passed on decent pieces & not I haven't seen another one, even a funky one, ofr over 2 years!

Good luck on finding a 5-window!!!

From what I have seen, you live in Tin Heaven, certainly much better at least than other States. (Florida for example :() You might have to get off the beaten path a little, and there probably aren't as many as at one time, but they are still there. Or you may have to go to a neighboring State.

We just bought two '49 Ford doors, one from Oklahoma and one from Montana. Man, are they nice and rustfree. You should have no problem whatsoever finding a body out West, you just have to turn over a few rocks and peek behind lots of old buildings.

Yeah, your absolutley right, I haven't looked as hard as I should. There are probably a lot of good ones still out here. I work overseas and am only home every few months so time is kinda limited.

I'm sure my luck will change at some point. I shouldn't complain, three of my 32-34 cabs are in great shape, two have no rot at all, and I picked them all up at pretty reasonable prices. So we'll see, I'll be patient and see what happens.

Thanks Don!

DW, If you do want to bid on it don't put your bid on ebay. Go to ezsnipe.com and register. You have to open an account and I think your first three wins are free. I've bought about 40 things on ebay using ezsniper. They bid for you with just seconds left. I promise you can't beat them, I've tried and lost. You may still lose but you didn't bid enough if you do lose. Nobody on ebay knows that you are even interested. When you put your bid on ebay everytime someone bids your bid will kick it up a few dollars and then they go back and bid and finally you are in a bidding war. With ezsniper whoever else bids never knows you're in the game until it's to late. Trust me, this is the only way to bid on ebay. Harleyboy PS Another thing with ebay is to look for mispelled words. I mean mispell something you are looking for and see if the seller has mispelled it also. I've bought several things that were mispelled and the seller didn't get any bids because nobody found his item due to the mispelling. I called one guy and made an offer on an item and he said that I was crazy. I told him that he wouldn't even have one bid and he laughed at me. I bid his opening bid and bought the item. He asked me how I knew he wouldn't have any bids and I told him about the mispelling. HB

Thanks for the advise, I buy quite a bit off of ebay and recently sold some stuff there as well, so the advise will help. Ebay is one of those things you never stop learning new things about.

The car is out of the range I was willing to pay at this point. I know I sounded like a rank amatuer when I described how bad I wanted it, but I get that way until I come back to my senses as my wife says.

I am gonna follow Don's advise and just look a little harder and wait for the right one to come along. They (28-29, 30-31 Mod A 5W coupes) are still out there, especially out West where I live. I would rather build my own anyway.

Contrary to what most people think, I haven't spent a ton of money for what I have so far. I have waited for good deals and haven't bought anything out of sheer desperation (except for 32-34 driver's side doors of course).

Thanks again though. I wonder how high the car will go???? Just for the hell of it, does anybody want to throw thier best guess out there?
