numbers on punkin 3725889 gm 22 ce 77 can anybody tell me what they mean. icannot find ANY numbers on front straight axle at all do i need to remove hubs and drums .thanks robertbandit

the rear end? if so ANY idea what its off of?

what were the letters and numbers on the top?
i assume there were 2 rows, one of them has probably
3 characters -- they would tell you when it was made
the other a longer string of characters...
but my guess is you have 55-64 chevy rear axle.
most likely a 1955 - 57 with that code. 57 had
a drainplug on the bottom 55 and 56 did not.
what else do you want to know?
