The reason we have front steering now is beacuse cars were based on the horse and wagon and front steering was simpler to engineer. The trick to rear steering is in the geometry and eliminating the snap when returning to straight. Rear steering eliminates understeer and allows the mass to lean into the turn like a boat. Picture a boat trying to operate with a rudder in the front. Any more pix of that one Gas?

I'm not 100% sure, but it sure looks like an early OHV Buick Straight 8 to me.

I can't think of an OHV straight 8 engine that has a crossflow head like that.... though otherwise it does look like a Buick. Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the exhaust pipes are a fake or piped under and up from the other side..[S

Saw a 4wd Ford van that had two driveshafts and two pumpkins in the front.
It appeared to be factory.
