To really appreciate the checkerboard pattern you need to see the artwork on the P-51 fighter itself. Check this out. It's a fantastic site.

Thanks Guys!! I'm working on several ideas to continue the theme. I have several vintage parts that were used on the P-51 as well as some other planes from WWII. The truck will have a noticable military/military aircraft, influence about it. Finding parts I want to use to keep it authentic has been the challenge but I've found most of it now. I'll keep you all posted as to my progress.
Hey Earthman, got any of the outside of this one? That windscreen looks slick!
Thanks GT. I've seen those pics before. The chain drive steering is unforgettable. That's probably why I never noticed the windscreen!
I really like the nose art, Thunder1.
Very interesting project, looking forward to seeing some more.
Have you seen this P-40 tribute truck ? It is for sale on Hot Rod Hot Line...
Kind of pricey though, follow the link after the photo if you want to see
more of the truck...
And post more photos on yours... ‘22

2 x 4,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
there's just something totally wrong about a Ferrari engine in a wagon. Not to sound insulting, because it is innovative, and unique, but that's evan worse than the guy who put the Toyota engine in the 1st. gen Camaro!
Hey 22 - Have you seen the Youtube video of this truck? It's great! Actually there are several on there showing the build etc... This thing sounds just like a V12 Merlin!I love this truck!
Here is the link.
