What are your choice for gas line from tank to carb? Steel, aluminum, copper? I plan on new line front to back, electric pump will be at back close to tank, with rubber connections, front line will have a piece of rubber for engine movement. I've heard not to use copper for brake lines since it will crack and break with movement, but have never heard anything bad about using it for gas lines as long as it's tied down. I know my RV has copper propane lines, and they don't break, so I wonder if it would work for gas?

I'm cheap and already have a long enough piece of copper that would work if I used it. I don't see where it would be any worse than aluminum line, but I might be missing something?

I've used steel and or copper - both with success. Just make sure they are 'tied' down somehow... I also have used rubber for short distances. -EZ

I run the entire distance from tank to engine in marine grade A1 rated rubber fuel line. It is thicker walled than the stuff you get at Autozone, and is resistant to ethanol and all that stuff. If the Coast Guard approves it for bilges in boats it is good enough for a car. I have been using it for 30 years with zero problems.

Just go to any marine supply store and ask for the A1 stuff.

As much as my car shakes I don't want rigid lines on it.

Thanks Don, I have been looking for something like this. Whats the cost for the 25' roll?

West Marine isn't real cheap on it, they get about $ 5 a foot for the 3/8 size, but if you get on line and look up Shields or Gates A1 fuel hose you can probably find it cheaper. You can buy it by the foot at marine stores so you won't have to buy a full 25 foot roll.

For example , these guys have it for less than $ 3 a foot for the 3/8.
