My Son Dan and I got his rpu running and today we took it out and put maybe a hundred miles on it. Looks like we have the problems we had with the first motor licked, this one runs so much better. It runs cooler, makes more hp, and best of all, doesn't seem to have any oil usage problems.

Here is a little video we made today. Crank up the speakers and put it on full screen. :D:D

That is cool.....

thing sounds killer.....trans shifts nice....seems to pull strong....[cl finally got to see some of these videos....since I'm at home...lol

Nothing like a roadster ride in Florida. Sounds great! Nice to have all those problems behind you guys.

Thanks guys. It wasn't all that warm here today either, and when the sun started going down it really got chilly........supposedly going into the low 40's tonight. But the top and back curtain actually kept it pretty warm inside.

Super duper deal Don. I'm really glad for you guys. It looks like I'll finally be able to see it at BP this year. Tell Dan congrats on getting it back together. I know you were a big part of it also so congrats to you also.

Thanks Bill. Barring any unforseen problems we will be there. Looking forward to seeing your family too. The biggest problem you guys have is deciding which cars to take. [cl

Thanks guys. I'm SO happy for Dan, poor guy has put so much hard work into this car for the past 6 years now and we have never had a motor fight us as much as the first motor did. He was going broke throwing money at it and still having no running car to show for it. I bet he slept a lot better last night after our little ride. :)

Like I mentioned, yesterday was not the warmest day we have ever had in Florida and last night was going to dip into the low 40's so when he suggested we take his car out to get some late dinner I thought he was nuts, but there was no way I was going to not go. Surprisingly, the top and windshield really let it stay pretty comfortable inside so I am only sniffling a little today. :D

"night was going to dip into the low 40's"
Waaa :)

Haha, yeah, I know, we are really spoiled here in Fl aren't we? Dan and were just laughing about that, it was only 65 during the day and I had a sweatshirt on. If I still lived in Pennsylvania and ever got a 65 degree day in January I would have been laying on the lawn thinking Summer had arrived. :D

What is funny about Florida is that no one here has nice Winter coats or clothes, so when we do bundle up we look like homeless people. Last night we were sitting at a restaurant and when I looked around all I saw were people with lots of layers of clothes on that looked like they were from 1965. I was one of them. :D

Funny story. Years ago I went to a car show here in Fl in the Winter time. During the day it was nice but while I was at the show the temps drops real fast into the 40's. I had to drive my roadster home in the cold and I was freezing. I was so cold and shaking that I couldn't hold my foot from shaking on the gas pedal and the car kept doing hops driving along. I pulled up to a light and a guy next to me rolled down his window and said "You poor dumb SOB !" I could only nod in agreement.

When I got home by the time I got from the garage to the bathroom I had stripped off every bit of clothing along the way and filled the tub with the hottest water I could stand to thaw out.:D We roadster guys are a special breed........a dumb breed, but a special breed.

Thanks Troy, looking forward to seeing you a BP too.:) IMO it was always nicer when they had it at Don Garlits place so I am glad they are going back this year.

I think I called the cops on you guys

Just kidding, I wish I could have seen you guys, but being about 150 miles away, it would be a little hard.
Glad to see you got it all squared away. It's always nice to finally get to drive it after all of the work that's been put into it.

Apopka is just a stones throw from Ocala, you should make it a point to go to Billetproof in March. If you haven't been there it is unlike most cars shows, mainly the kinds we all like on here. We'd like to meet you anyway. :)

It looks like I am going to get to see my old 23 modified at BP. A guy just bought it from the guy I sold it to and he has been emailing and calling me, says he took it to the first show and had a crowd around it so he is pretty stoked. I have mixed feelings about seeing it, I might feel bad but it's like seeing an old GF, she belongs to someone else now. :(
