GPS speedo on my iFone

I usually don't run a speedo on my cars & use the tach as a guide so I thought I'd give a free speedo app a try & glad i did... go'n about 10mph faster than I thought! Ain't tech great... free speedo... gots ta lov it!!!

I was thinking about getting a cheap gps to use for a speedo, lots easier than laying under the car trying to find a cable to fit and then having it all out of whack anyway.

Never did get a speedo myself. I did download Dynolicious though. Tells 0-60, 1/8th and 1/4mile times
Also how fast your reached certain speeds. What a fun toy to try on the back roads.

My 60' time is a neck breaking 2.56
My 1/4 time is 11.60 @ 127
Even has an estimated hp output based of weight and performance times.

I also drove with the tach.

My 27 has a speedometer, but I haven't hooked it up in the 25 years I have had the car on the road. What I did was I went for a ride with a hand held GPS, and marked the tach at 35, 45, and 55 mph. I put a little painted line at those speeds on the face of it. So when I am in high gear I can look at the tach and know how fast I am going.

But when I put the 4.30 gears in it I had to redo it but it worked out perfectly because every 1000 rpms is 20 mph, so if I am taching 2000 I am going 40 mph and 3000 is 60. I just have to do a little math in my head to figure out things like 35 and 45, but it is easy.

The app I have on my phone is called speedview. Kinda cool has a 0-60 feature and a 1/4 mile. Also it can be used as a heads up display, only really use-able at night but fun.
Technology....gotta love it.

Hmm what's the app called?

21... mine is just called Speedometer! It's by Tim O's Studio... very basic but I wouldn't mind having one that does 0-60. I just searched the App Store for speedometers & this one had a 5 star rating & was free so I downloaded it!
