you have some really cool cars and it looks like you guys know what your're doing. You asked for opinions on the corvair, no doubt it would be fast as you have it planned but to be honest, building a tube frame so you can put a big block in it almost seems un-original. Don't take this the wrong way, there wont be many like it, it will be a lot of work, very different and cool when it's done. But I almost feel like any car can be dissected and mounted on a custom frame. Which would mean the corvair is really just a shell. I think the car would be way cooler if you did some serious tweekage to the horizontal six. Those are cool motors. Just my opinion.
have a dragster rear end trans bolts to rear end 2 speed powerglide no drive shaft had the same set up on me rear engine vw back in the 70s still trying to find the photos of that car.Come on Joe, lighten up . What would be cooler than a tube framed, mid engined, big block Corvair. I wouldn't weld up those rear doors though. You made need the access to work on the engine if you put it where you stated, right behind the drivers seat. What do you intend to use for a transaxle?
