Hey guys thought id introduce myself...
Name is Scott Dowdy. I live in waterloo Indiana about 45 mins north of Fort Wayne. I am a certified welder/ pipe fitter by trade. I have spent 25 years of my life working on dirt circle track cars at times on a national level. I also built custom bikes as a hobby for about the last 10 yrs and after gettin burnt out on that I decided to try my hand at a rat rod. A very good friend has a 40 international cab on a s-10 frame and after riding in it i was bit by the bug. my garage is very small so i decided if I was gonna build one it would have to be small so i decided to chase a idea I had had for some time..
Its a 73 super beatle on a 98 s-10 frame. shortned the frame 15 Inches moved the engine back 4 inches all custom floor fresh built 305 (picked it up CHEAP) so far its been an absolute blast to build and i cant wait to get it done and drive it as well as start another lol...

a friend of mine has a 40 plymouth coupe that was turned into a race car and raced locally until the mid 60's.. Its been sitting in a fence row ever since has a straight axle.. body was narrowed. I think im gonna do something with it but very little. im thinking streetable vintage race car but pretty much looking like it sits now just mechanically sound under all that rust and dust

heres a few build pics

Hi and welcome to RRR from northern Alberta.
Your transmission hump looks almost factory, but there will be a lot of ladies who will beat you up when they hear that you cut up a cream can for a car. [ddd ;)
I also await the many pictures of the Plymouth.
Keep on tinkering.

Welcome to RRR! I like that bug build, the more I see them the more they grow on me....

You should make a build thread, so we can follow the progress there!
