Hey folks, this is Ronnie Lee from the Dallas area. I don't know much about cars so a friend, that used to build street rods, suggested I try this website. He thought that I might find someone knowledgeable about some things I call "little submarines" I've had for years in my yard but don't know what they are really. I've asked around the net a bit and so far no one has an answer. I'll attach some pics if that's ok. They are 17' long and 2' thick. They appear to be made of aluminum. There are very few markings except for "no step" and that it takes 230 gallons and can use atomized fuel so I think they are some kind of marine transport containers for some sort of fuel. I've tried to "google" them but with no luck. If anyone has a clue as to what these are I would very much appreciate any knowledge you could share.

Thank you all,

Ronnie Lee

Tanks

Thanks for the replies. Wing or belly tanks? I will try to use those keywords to find out what they specifically are. It's been driving me nuts for a long time now. I figured they might work as pontoons for a boat some day!

Welcome ! Judging by the fins and orientation of the labelling, they are likely wing tanks, though I'm no expert. Please don't use em' for pontoons !! With some imagination they could be made to work for a streamliner type rod, though the favorites back in the old days were P38 tanks since they were fatter in the middle.

Welcome from the pond! Cornfield Customs built a belly skidder and I think there's a thread on here somewhere, might want to check that out. Good luck and keep us posted.
