I just bought my Son Dan a set of header flanges from this company so he can build a new set of headers for his rpu. These things are amazingly good. They are 3/8 thick and cut to the shape of the gasket so they look cleaner on the engine.

I can not recommend them enough, and the owner, Andy, was a super nice guy to deal with, before and after the sale. They make a lot of parts we rodders can use, so here is a link to their site,

Here is the set I bought my Son.

If I remember correctly, that 56 would be a 322 engine? If so, he has flanges for it. But he also carries the 364, 401, etc ones too. Here are the 322 flanges.

Hey Don if you don't mind me asking, what did you have to give for the Olds flanges?? If you don't want to post would you mind PM'ing me? Thanks!!

Never mind saw the link!!

I've used Hell's Gate flanges too. Top quality. I have a set waiting to be attached to some tubing right now... they'll be going on a 235 Chevy.

Ordered some in for the big block caddy. Pretty good, but I will probably have to do a little work to clean up a couple of holes, not quite as good as I would have liked.

BH, I'm surprised. I would suggest you call Andy and see what's what. I found him to be extremely good to deal with and bet he would want to know. The flanges we got from him were perfect, we laid them on an Olds gasket and they match exactly.

It is not that big of a deal. From a distance they look pretty good, but I will clean them up a little better. Or maybe I am just a little too picky.

BH, I agree those look sloppy in the holes. I took the liberty of sending Andy an email with the pictures you posted and told him I suggested you call him to see about getting another set or whatever. Here is a copy of that email.

Hi Andy,

I bought the header flanges for the 455 Olds from you at Christmas time and Dan was thrilled to get them as a present. They are perfect and he is about ready to start making the headers. Because of that, I have been spreading the word about how satisfied we were.

One member on a forum I frequent ordered a set from you and his weren't of the same quality as the ones I got. Not sure what happened, but I am enclosing pictures he posted. You probably have his name from your records, and I have suggested he call you to see about an exchange or whatever. From dealing with you I am convinced you go out of your way to sell a good product so I know you would want the opportunity to make this one right.

I will let you know how my Son's headers come out when they are done.

Thanks Andy,

Don

From talking with him and the quality of what we got, I know Andy will appreciate you contacting him, he is a super nice guy. Hope you don't mind my intervening.

looks like they forgot to put a "lead in" cut into the CNC program. If it starts out on the edge of the circle and not inside it it will leave that funky cut mark where it started.

Bonehead, did Andy ever get with you or did you ever get with him? Just curious. I looked at the ones my Son got from him again and they are cut perfectly.

Don

No Don, they will work fine for me, and it is not worth the hassle of sending them back or anything. Thanks for thinking of me though. I just wanted to point out that they may or may not be perfect.

I'm sorry that yours came in like that, BH. From talking with Andy I know he would have made them right, even if it required him just sending you another set.

I think it is like tfg455 said about how it got cut wrong. I bet Andy has these mass produced by some vendor and he just missed seeing how this one was done before it got shipped. But with your skills you will make them right pretty easily.

Don
