It's just cold rolled mild steel from where I work. We buy steel from the big suppliers and re-sell it to smaller shops and individuals.

I haven't noticed any yet and I think they will hold up long enough to do the floors and firewall of my Henry J. I haven't put a file to the HF ones, but I doubt if they're hardened either.
