i have no idea why mexicans make tamales for xmas.
but i have never had a bad one.

The one thing I miss about living in Southern California is the Mexican food.......it is the best and most original IMO. Even the lunch trucks that come around to your work have really great Mexican food on them.

The secretary at the school I work at is Mexican and I remember her complaining about having to spend half a day making them for Thanksgiving. She was supposed to bring me one but I never got it

i am in a neverending search for the perfect taco.
so far while i have had some darned good ones
the best was at a little place in austin.
next was in durango colo.
there is an undefinable aspect that will make two identical looking tacos completely different
one can be fantastic
and one merely good.

Where I am from we have lunch trucks, normally next to the train tracks and all they make is Mexican food. Truly the best Mexican you can get your hands on. I miss it.

Oh, makes me miss the tamale lady that came around every Friday back in Texas. I never had real Mexican until I moved there. Tex-Mex isn't even close.
