A better pic of the zoomies. I cut up a set for the other side. I will get the placement played out and build some way to mount them. Debating making them the actual exhaust?!?! Maybe make them on a cut out. Open to run the zoomies closed for the normal muffler. I will also lay them out so they run parallel with the body

Smart thinking! If a guy did want to make them functional, having smaller and shorter pipes inside the "cosmetic zoomies" might eliminate the burn risk?

If I do make them functional I would but them on some sort of butterfly valve so they could be shut off. It would run through the muffler most the time. I might make them so they can function, that way oli can change my mind later

Got some actual work done on this little fella tonight. I cut the front beam loose and pulled it straight with the world. I then cut the old axle out and then beat the crap out of it to remove all the needed pieces. Built new brackets for the new bearings. Then I reassembled everything and it rolls so easy now!

The pile of washers came from the hubs. The original axle was about 3" to short, so the stacked these behind the wheel on the hub. The hubs only had about 3/4" of the axle actually inside the hub. Its should have about 2". I'm not sure it would have been safe to run it at any speed as it was set up before.

The frame probably would have been fine as is, but my ADD kicked in LOL. I always had cool old go-karts or mini bikes have some sort when I was a kid, so I thought the girls would enjoy this and so far they have. They come out and help me pick tools up or cleanup pieces I've said on the ground

Got some down on the go-kart today. I messed around with a bunch of the body mount tubes and got the body sitting straighter on it. Pretty sure whoever built that was blind. I also got the motor sitting in it. I had to adjust the motor Mount plate because the pull rope was hitting the tire, it must have had a three horsepower motor in it before. The 6 1/2 is a little bit bigger. I also remounted the body in the back on a couple hinges so the body tips up like a real funny car now. The girls like it they said it's way easier to get in

The twins pushed sister back into the garage. Already practicing backing her up into the groove! Once it was back in the garage the oldest got the instructions and proceeded to tell me how to install the engine[

super cool! I bet they remember it forever, and here is why.

when I was a teenager my good friend had a subaru brat fiberglassed bodied gokart that he never used, which I thought was crazy! he said it was too slow, it wasnt much fun just puttering around. so I scraped up $50 and offered it to him, and he accepted. his dad was a well respected business owner and I guess wanted to teach his son how to honor a deal, for whatever reason they brought it right over. I puttered around for about 10 minutes, then a couple 1/2" bolts rolled the heavy body off and we spent the next year blasting around and wearing ruts in the yard.
