Sounds like a great idea to me. Because of stupidity on my part I have some doubles and extra parts. Maybe we could find a group of guys who live close to each other to do the build.

I'm thinking any one of us must have stuff they aren't using. Even if every part doesn't fit the build, they could always be ebayed or swapped for stuff we could use. I could probably come up with a starter car if we can agree on who wants to start the build. It wouldn't have to be all on one person or shop, we could pass it around. I think maybe an AD chevy, cool trucks and easy to find and find parts for. Small block chevy, almost everyone has an extra one of those or parts for one. I'm willing to do what I can but I suck at organizing and delegating. Also I think some sort of donations would need to go to the shop(s) involved in the build, we can't expect anyone to donate all of their time.
Right now I could lay my hands on a fairly straight 47 1/2 ton 5 window with title for $700. I couldn't swing it all but probably half and I can throw in some goodies like a 65 Lesabre tilt column, and I have several sets of hanging pedals.

I am not much of a builder, nor do I have any parts to give away. I can always lend a hand in parts tracking and such. I would be willing to make some cash donations if this is something we are really thinking of doing.
