Hi Everyone
Let me explain first....I am in the process of getting my Rat Rod (1953 ish) Chevy truck put together. I wanted it to look cool so I "Z"ed the frame 12" in the rear and 9 1/2" in the front. Stock type 1/2 ton Chevy suspension front and rear. I have about 5" of clearance on the bottom side of truck...but I gotta say this..how do you guys work on these things this low????...I mean I see guys have built stuff so much lower than that..I can just barely get my floor jack underneath it to jack it up. I get so cramped up when I am (trying to at least) crawling underneath running plumbing lines and other misc stuff. Is there a trick to this low rider stuff I am missing??? Oh yeah also how will these low riders actually ride??
Thanks for any input.

LOW

If you z'ed the frame and still have all the standard suspension, then you did not change the suspension, it will ride like a 53 chevy truck, just lower to the ground, when you start cutting springs or adding blocks the suspension changes and rides rougher, you should be ok in the ride dept. but good luck getting under it.

One of these really helps. :)

yep, drive it up or roll it up on some boards. When I take my engine out or put it in I have to do this to get the engine hoist underneath.

Or take the cab off to run wires etc. then put it back on again.
