Thats the stile of moto bike I had at one time , mine was a 250 trials (CAT) by YAMAHA the seat was about an inch thick , (not ) made for sitting . if im not mistaken the whole bike didnt weigh but 175# and you could balance it easily. the replacement or up-grade version was water cooled , it was around $11,000 way back then and the yamaha place said they could order it for me but it would come from France and I would have to pay the shipping ... I loved my bike . they got a video of a man crossing a bridge on one of these bikes ,,, I'll see if I can find it ..

I found a few , but they are not the first one I seen ,, this man jumps his bike up on a 3 foot end block for the bridge with no ramp and they didnt even make a big deal out of it , I saw this video about 10 years ago or more ,, this stunt riding wanst as popular then .. they have competitions with these bikes to . rock climbing, rolling backwards , standing still on one wheel ,, all without your feet touching the ground or you loose points . I was told my bike got the name CAT because the advertised it chained to a pole and ideling it would climb the pole . which you could not choke it dou
in in 1st gear .. it would go or dig a hole ..

I love these vids willow,, mine was I guess the first version of the trials, this is the picture of mine when it was sold..Mine wasnt this pretty but this was the year of the one I had . the new version of this bike is great . Id love to take it for a spin. mine had perfect balance to it you could stop and by turning the handle bars you could balance it .. with practice you could do about anything with these bikes .

I never rode one but still think they are awesome. I bet those vintage ones are worth some coin now too. Was your TY a 175 or 250?

those trials bike riders are the Opera singers of bikes. Trials riding is for the super agile super balanced.

I had a TL125 couldn't do a darn thing with it. Hats off to the trials riders.

Mine was a 250 and it had a CAT sticker on the side of it, it sounded identical to the ones in the video . thump- thump- thump -thump you could start out in 4th gear and pull it up on the back tire .. but when you stuck it in 5th it sounded like you skipped a gear .. I loved mine wish I still had it ..
