how to read my vin/serial# on my truck

any ideas I bought an old chevy 3600 "think its a 49" but not sure no title any help is greatly appreciated

this is the site i used and the only thing it tells me is where the truck came from. not a yr built

A lot of old stuff has the year on the taillight lens, if it is the original lens. The key to the year is in the vin.
