and the tires that will go on them. 215/50/17 front and 285/60/18 rear. The Dodge should have a pretty good rake to it!

Yeah, me either. I had a bad experience with them on my old 72 F-100. Tire store guy torqued the pi$$ out of them. Luckily I felt a little shimmy and stopped before I lost a tire. Three were completely stripped of threads and the other two weren't much better.

Guy I went to high school with wasn't so lucky with his Trans-Am, he lost the left rear only a mile or two from the tire store and it really mangled the quarter panel.

Love those wheels, by the way.

You can buy those chromed lug nuts where I live, for just over 50c apiece. I bet they all come from the same low grade Chinese supplier too...

I'm going to have a serious think about changing mine out for a different style after reading this.

I'm sure you're right and that they all come from the same place. Back then my fix was putting new studs in all the way around and buying better quality lug nuts. If I were to do it I'd order extra long studs and use some open ended lugs to make sure the I had plenty of thread engagement.

After my tire store fiasco, I discovered that I could strip the threads out of some of those cheap lug nuts with just a 4 way wrench. And that was with 2.5 - 3 inches of thread in them, so it's not like they were barely catching the threads.

But back to the subject.. I love those wheels. They're one of the styles I'm considering for one of my projects if I ever get around to working on it.
