When I went out to my buddies last weekend to visit my dog he showed me his little baby in a back garage.

We just sparked a deal and I'm gonna go pick it up this weekend. I traded the 64 and my 2 free yamahas for his mint 85 Mercury Capri Mclaren. Which has a built 351 in the front. When you get this thing to hook up it pulls the front tire off the ground! All I need to do is put a belt tensioner on it and a window motor. He painted the exterior red and added some centerline wheels. The body is perfect and from what I can tell the interior is too.

I've never owned a Ford in my life, but when he asked if we could trade I said yes with barely any hesitation. This will be a first ford for me, but what better way to pop my cherry?

That be it!!! Except he has painted this one red and put some centerlines on it. I think I'll try and find some stock wheels though.

Oh and I have the new age mullet...........shaved head with a goat!:D

I was mistaken on the motor. Instead of a 351 he has a built 302 in there and also he has pics of both the front wheels coming off the ground.:D I've always wanted a car with too much motor and not enough suspension. This car should be it. He said that it really needs a cage and subframe connectors.

Oh and my buddy has a 125 shot system of nitrous sitting in his room that he said I could use. That is if the car isn't fast enough! As long as the warden doesn't have plans for me, I should be able to go pick it up this weekend!

Wheelie city!!!

Inked,
With that much power I suggest subframe connectors @ least or u'll start bendin' up u're rear sheet metal & who knows what else!

That definitely ought to show u if there is a weak link in u're drivetrain!!! ; - >

I'm startin' 2 think... this may not wind up bein' a *driver*!!!

I knew a guy with one back in the late 80s and it is a cool car. The guy literally wrapped it around a telephone pole right in town in a 25mph zone:eek:. He was fine as it hit right in the rear quarter and popped the rear end out the other side:eek:. That was it for that car, hehehe. His was a 302 as well. Personally, I like the Auto Drag Centerlines the most of all 70s and 80s types of mag wheels. I have em on a z28:D.

I've never messed with a fox body, but I know some of you have. The subframe connectors that I'm finding are just square tubing that welds to the front and back with a piece of angle iron that bolts to the bottom of the floor under the seats. They want $38 on ebay, but the metal seems kinda thin. I'm thinking about fabbing up my own. Are they as straight forward as I think?

Oh and this car has scared anybody that has driven it, but he also said that once you get used to the power, it's addictive! He said numerous times he would get out of the car after a hard launch just to check if the body was tweaked!:D Subframe connectors are a must!!!!!!!!!

Here's a pic of the ones on ebay. They are only made of 14 gauge metal though.
