Yeah, it was a long way from 'ratty' that's for sure :D
As for the trip, it was mine and Mrs. Snake Farm's Christmas present!

Our 'hosts'.......

....our wonderful daughter and awesome son in-law. Lucky parents we are, and thankful for it every day

Our second stop was San Juan, Puerto Rico. Cruised past El Morro Castle on the way in....

Shortly afterward we were swarmed by these guys....

Never did figure out whether they were protecting the ship or Puerto Rico [S

One of Explorer's sister ships (Navigator Of The Seas) was already docked when we arrived..

Once on land we wasted no time heading to our next excursion....

Yeah, ya can't go to San Juan without checking out some Rum ;)

Hang on,

Although the barrels turned out to be empty....

We were a little disappointed that the Bacardi tour didn't take us into the inner workings of the Rum making but we did pick up a few bottles of stuff that is not available here at home.
Evening was falling as we returned and Christmas lights were everywhere...

The local Caterpillar dealer....

Even the ship was lit up like a Christmas tree when we got back....

Enjoyed our day in San Juan, next stop: St. Thomas

To be continued,

Stunning!! Thanks for sharing. I too am a little disappointed you didn't get down to the engine room, lol.
My oldest sis took her whole family on a cruise for Christmas. They just got back, brought me some great cigars from Cozumel.

It was a beautiful sunny morning when we pulled into St. Thomas. A harbor full of sail boats and hillsides full of white houses and lots of red roofs...

..As I was taking in the scenery I heard what I though was a speed boat coming out of a cove across from us. It turned out to be this sea plane which buzzed the bow of the ship as it lifted off :D

We made our way off the ship and headed out for a day at the beach. Not just any beach but Magans Bay, voted one of the top ten beaches in the world

scmegansbaystthomas.jpg

Beautiful beach full of Pelicans and other sea birds that were feeding on schools of fish and diving like crazy! Also tons of these guys.....

sciguana.jpg

and plenty of these little fellows too, do you see him?

scmongoose.jpg

Mongoose......or would that be Mongeese [S

People haulers everywhere but I found this one to be interesting....

scfunkycutchevy.jpg

...Interesting bumper sticker too.....I guess folks everywhere deal with pretty much the same problems

Looks like St. Thomas takes their gun crimes seriously too....

Well, there you have the first three ports of call. One private owned and two US Territories .......next stop a foreign country....or should I say two countries?

To be continued,

Ever think about being a tour guide????

On the right, you will notice the large white seaplane, gliding gently above the water as it flys gently on the warm breezes passing ever so low over the bow......
