I am helping my friend build his first rat. We started with a 40 something binder. I chopped it 6 inches, Z,d the frame 7 inches. He is going to use a 302 Ford with auto, the rear is out of a Subaru. He is some pics of work done so far.

Very Nice !!!

Nice job, looks great.
The Subaru rear end is something different to me.
Looks like you get independant rear suspension, disk brakes in the deal.
How beefy is the 3rd member on those ??
Keep us posted, a very cool project, thanks for sharing. '22

I kinda like the fenderless look - the chop and color reminds me of a tank for some reason and the way the front frame sits is really cool looking - shame to cover it up. It'll look good with the fenders too.

Good progress on your build! I`ts a good thing we love them `ol IH`s here `cause we sure are startin` to see alot of `em here, they`re getti`n as bad as them F-series Fords!!:D:D

We did some more on the truck. He got the rear fitted and tack welded, what a task that was. It really turned out great. He is going to do some more touch up work on it, but ateast we can roll it around again.:D
